Mapping the castle and town.

Today we started sketching out our blueprints for our castles. We researched about castles before we started sketching. We will start building our castles next week on Tuesday. We had a lot of fun today(:

What to bring for Castle Building!

Hello Castle Architects!
You will need the following for castle building next week, November 22nd:

1. A 2 ft. by 2 ft. base. Can be foam core board, heavy duty cardboard, light plywood, etc.

2. Recyclables: toilet paper tubes, cereal boxes, etc. No glass. All supplies must fit inside one trash bag. Label the bag with your name.

The Castle Mapping and Building Project Begins!

Meet our class of castle architects! Today we went outside and found a spot to put our castles when we are finished. We are doing some reasearch on castles. We found our towns we picked on a map of Wales and we will make a castle to put there.

Castles: Medieval War Machines!

The year is 1282. King Edward I of England has defeated the last Welsch governing family, Prince Llywelyn ap Gruffydd and his brother Dafydd...their last rebellion leading to their eventual defeat and death. King Edward now plans to annex all of Wales and build castles throughout the country to protect his new land. English soldiers will be garrisoned in the castles, and the towns will be settled by English colonists. King Edward's head architect, Master James St. George, has given you the responsibility of planning and building a castle for King Edward. This castle is to be located on Cardigan Bay on the west side of Wales. Where will you choose to build your castle, and why there? Be prepared to defend your overall building plan.
